News from the Busbee Creative Arts Academy in Cayce, SC:
The Academy is pleased to report that the orchestra currently services 12 students. To facilitate learning, Mr. Rogers is using the Essential Elements for Strings method book series. To supplement, appropriate quartet literature is being acquired.
The Orchestra recently completed its very first performance of “Jingle Bells” at the end of quarter showcase on December 15. The performance had no printed program so credit was given verbally to CFKF by Mr. Rogers for the instruments.
Students will participate in more such informal performances. A notable increase in student interest following the performance has led to the planning of a seventh grade beginning course as well as a continuing seventh grade course.
